Marc

Who here has watched someone play Final Fantasy 8? You? Oh, I'm sorry, the guy behind you. The one with his head down. Anyways ... Our roommate, Al, played it tonight, and it was quite possibly the most frustrating thing I've ever sat down and watched. They have a feature on FF8 that lets you draw magic spells from opposition monsters, characters, etc. I know. I know. This sounds terribly geeky, but just let me finish. Al sat there, and fought one guy for more than twenty minutes, only he didn't fight at all, he just kept drawing spell after spell after spell. Tell him he's being silly, and he'll just smile. He doesn't care. "Al, you know that you're not going to actually finish this game, right? You're still on disk 1."

"I know," he says with a grin. Arg.

Now I'm stuck at one in the morning with the option of CNN Headline News (personal favorite) or infomercials. I've been trying desperately to finish a second song on the four track, but (a) my memory card keeps running out of room, and (b) I didn't play the guitar parts in perfect tempo. Trying to add drums was so frustrating because I just could not get them all synced (sp?) up.

And I'm still pissed about my tire. That's bad. But my first class tomorrow (ie -- the one at noon o'clock) has already been cancelled. That's good. But I'll still have to get up at about the same time so Matt can follow me over to get my car fixed. That's bad. But I'll probably be able to convince him to drive through some kind of food joint, thus breaking my no breakfast and lunch habit. That's good.

Can I go home now?
