Zach "Seth Goldenrod" Kuhn

We all know the "Midwest" is ten miles outside of any city.

Dave Eggers everybody. No one has made the point that people from the suburbs of New York are the same as people from the suburbs of Indianapolis quite so well. I confess, I bought the paperback version of his book for the extra 50 pages, read them, and then promptly returned it. It's not my fault
they're dumb, is it?

Seth Goldenrod is my porn name. Marc's is Edward Longtree. Rick's is Tim Fast. Matt's is Matt Fast. Scott's is Dirk Diggler.

Boston Public was good in a gooey kind of way: how about the cameos on that show, eh? Tonight the father of the kid who is murdered at the end was the guy from Sliders, a show I never watched with the sound on. I never even used the closed captioning. Those of you who don't know me very well should know that I often have the television on mute, with captions, so that I can listen to the stereo, read, and watch T.V at the same time. Doesn't that bother me? No, they wreck like trains.

I do not like Destiny's Child, nor will I ever. They're awful.

I just finished making audio footnotes for my Prose paper, due tomorrow and done. The Lady Friend would call that pretentious (sic?). Audio footnotes. Apparently I have a tendency to talk down to people, I don't think so, but some people do. My professor told us to make a lot of cultural references because "I get really tired of hearing the same quotes over and over". So I decided to use some songs in the paper, which is about how musicians are very rarely into music for the right reasons anymore. Art for art's sake. Anyway, I hate reading articles/essays/features where a person talks about a song I've never heard before, so I decided I'd make a tape of the songs I was talking about. My professor is a music fan, he was a DJ at his college radio station, and I figured he'd appreciate it.

Who's on it? The usual suspects: Spoon, the Weakerthans, Dismemberment Plan, Cave In, Les Savy Fav, Superchunk, Van Morrison, and At the drive in.

I do, however, like Dream. They seem like some reg'lar nice girls.

I read today that Jonah from Far/Jonah's onelinedrawing has started a new band with Norm Arenas and another former Texas is the Reason star plus a guy who used to be in Split Lip (chamberlain). What are they called? Go here, scroll down, and find out.

P.S. We here at Superhero BLARG do not, in any way, condone the use or public transmission of Ronald Reagan. He was the ultimate puppet fascist son of a bitch, he killed more homeless people in this country (directly, by not giving a God Damn) than weather. How did some of our parents elect such a man??....we'll never know. How did people our age vote for George W? Because quite a few of us did. I voted for Nader, which the Lady Friend would also call pretentious (sic?). I also like Howard Stern. Is that pretentious?

On a happier note, I've decided to add one more person to my Saved in California list: Katie Holmes and family. She wrote me a few letters back in the day, she was my secret pen pal when I was in high school.

You bullshitting Clark?

The next five songs on your radio in a perfect world would be: "Pollyana" by Onelinedrawing; "I want someone badly" by Jeff Buckley; "Wake Up!" by Les Savy Fav; "Regret" by New Order; and "Love Ridden" by Fiona Apple

In the stereo: Three Mile Pilot
