No one knows how to ruin a decent nap like our roommate, Al. I swear its during naps mostly when he decides to cook and wash dishes and burp loudly, and turn lights on and make as much noise as possible. There we were, three out of four mates all nestled quietly asleep on a lazy Sunday on the couches, napping. Bring in Al, and it all goes to shit. Fuck.
Today has been one of the laziest in recent memory, begun in earnest with some intense reading of A Heartbreaking Work Of Staggering Genius. I'm actually stumbling through the book in bits and pieces. I put it down for four or five days at a time, read like fifty pages in one sitting, and then don't pick it up again. I like it. I'm getting into it, I just am having trouble concentrating on it. I blame it on classes. I know that I can always read something for a class instead of something on my own. Sirrah.
On the trip to Taco Bell today for lunch, we ***1*** decided to hit the Blockbuster next door. Choice #1: Pootie Tang, which was much funnier than I was expecting it to be. The main character rarely says anything that is understandable, and the rest of the thing was so over the top ridiculous, it made it funny. Scooter would love it. Of this I am sure. Choice #2: Ghostworld, which looked appealing, though I have yet to watch it. I think someone somewhere wrote a little something about it. I can't remember who though. I'm fully game to peruse later on tonight.
After that, some work on the writing project. I sent it off last night to my classmates. All 5000+ words. We were told that during our critique, we were to sit and listen. No comments. No gestures or sighs or "thank you's" allowed. Just listen and take notes on what people were telling you. I went through it just to make sure it all went through. I sent an attached version, and then I cut and pasted one into the email itself. The cut and paste fucked it all up and now there's tons of mistakes which weren't originally there, and it makes me sick. I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to papers, and this was not making me happy. But then I watched bits of Terminator 2 while I drifted off to sleep in the living room, so I guess I'll be alright.
