Drool
I just woke up from an extremely pleasant mid-day nap drooling all over my damned self. I'm also wearing sweatpants, and, no, this does not mean that I've resigned to gaining weight for the rest of my life. If that were the case that sentence would've read something like, I'm also thinking about buying a mu-mu.
Boo-hoo.
There has not been much going on on my side of the planet. I took a really fantastic drive home from Scooter's apartment in Wheaton the other day. The sky was grey, and it was freezing outside, though not as cold as it is today, and it was absolutely beautiful. Sometimes I find myself missing the scenery in other states. I never got a chance to really dig into the cities and surroundings because I spent a majority of my day working, and the majority of my night recovering from work. But, lately, I've gone on some gorgeous drives around Illinois. Call me insane, but I find the flat landscape and dotted farmland beautiful. I know that may sound a bit strange. I think it gives me a chance to imagine about more people's lives at once, instead of driving through the mountains when you only really see one house at a time, and thus only come up with their life's story. Living in Illinois gives us the ability to dream about many life stories at once. I can create the story of a town just by driving by it on the interstate. It's a beautiful thing.
Other than that, I'm just happy to nearly be done this semester, and I'm itching to go to Miami for few days during the weekend after finals. Unfortunately, as soon as I get home I'll have to go to the oral surgeon and get my wisdom teeth pulled, which will kind of suck. But, even having said that, I should also say that I'm totally looking forward to getting knocked out by the anasthetics (sp?). I've never been gassed up before, and I think I'm going to buy a little handheld tape recorder for my mom to use on me when we're sitting in the recovery room to tape all the stupid shit that I'm going to say. Should be fun. Maybe I'll post the transcripts up here.
One more thing -- I wrote and handed-in a communications paper on Seinfeld yesterday, and am preparing to write and hand in an extra-credit paper for the same class on High Fidelity by tomorrow. How awesome is that?
