Marc

Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA

I'm not trying to be patriotic by writing "USA" at the end there, up there, or whatev. I'm just hoping I get out of the country at least once this summer, is all. I'd love to go to Canada, eh? Where they always have fun things going down, like outdoor summer curling tournaments, or cow-tipping galore! I saw clouds a-brewin' over the Canadian shores earlier today on my drive up here. Michigan, as far as I can tell, is the asshole of our country. For real. It's a dump almost in every direction you look, though I admit I have yet to visit the top of the state. I've only gone as far as Grand Rapids, which is pretty far up there, but still ... it's no peninsula now, is it?

Ah. Feels like I'm babbling a bit. My tooth is still fucking killing me. I had to go out and get some Anbesol, and it turns out there was a Barnes and Noble right next door, so I stopped in and walked out with Four Books! dammit! What the hell is wrong with me? I'll tell you one thing -- I forgot the Ken Kesey novel, Sometimes a Great Notion, downstairs at the parent's house along with my shorts. I have no short term memory. That's for damn certain. I started J.D. Salinger's Franny & Zooey this morning after I finished the bulk of my work and I'm about twenty pages from the end. I freaked out about not having anything else to read for the rest of the trip. Guess I over-compensated now, didn't I?

You be the judge. Maybe I'll write more later. I've got plenty more dirt to dish on myself ... and we've got plenty more on Homer Simpson, too.

"Doh!"
