Zook INcandenZA

When this is over.

Just spent the last twenty minutes deleting my surname from the archives of this here BLARG. I'm going one month at a time, until every Z____ K____is replaced with ZooK. Sad, but true.

Slept almost all day, separated only by an hour of reading Don DeLillo's Underworld and eating some Cheerios with Raisin Toast. Sadly, this is the extent of my life.

Sadly.

I'm about to start the final project of my Undergraduate career. A 15-20 opus that does a critical character analysis of FuckHead from Jesus' Son and Terry Prescott from You Can Count On Me. Honestly, the two best movies made in the 90's, even if YCCOM was released in 2000. I just can't seem to get the fucking thing started. I have all the research I'm going to need sans "The Ideology of Aesthetics" by Terry Eagleton which our library has decided not to carry and is forcing me to write down word for word the passages I need from a copy at Barnes and Noble. Ugh.

The Ry's boss is an in the closet gay man. Today I found out that he has, in his living room:
1. A display case of Barbie dolls. Plus the Cher one.
2. A collection of Wizard of Oz memorbilia.
3. Three-Five huge Barbara Streisand posters.
4. A shelf of CD's by Babs, Julie Garland, and LIza Minelli
5. A DVD collection containing every Babs movie ever made.
6. A "cousin" who lives with him, yet there is only one bedroom in his house.

So, my question is, why doesn't he just end all this embarassing madness and admit: "I'm gay." No one at his work will think less of him, he'll have, like, ten thousand less problems, and, really, who couldn't tell from that list of 6 things? Yes, he lives in an area that is for the most part full of biggots. But it's not like he has to wear a sign that says "I'm Gay! Beat my ass!". All he has to do is not try to hide it anymore.

And Jack Black is hosting Saturday Night Live on January 19th, with the Strokes as musical guests. Could be as good as the 70's. Could.

Next five: "get this party started" by pink; "shit, this ain't got nothing to do with the sound a gun makes" by lois lane; "cckmp" by steve earle; "cowgirl in the sand" by neil young; and "Neil Jung" by teenage fanclub.

in the stereo: A silver mt. zion
