Marc

Sammy Sosa is on his way to Baltimore. Thank you, Jim Hendry. We no longer have to sit idly by while Swingin' Sammy strikes out in one clutch situation after the other. We no longer have to marvel at the monstrous solo home runs he belts in late innings of games where the Cubs are getting blown out. We no longer have to watch him kiss his fingers, touch them to his heart, kiss them again, touch them to his heart, kiss them again, and so on.

I will not miss Sammy Sosa. The only thing I will miss is the fact that the Cubs missed out on trading him two or three years ago, when we could have gotten something valuable for him. Yes, we should have gone after a Carlos Beltran. Maybe they'll sign Ordonez (though it now seems unlikely), but say what you want about Jim Hendry. Just know this: the Cubs, minus Sosa, are that much less of a swing for the fences type team. Addition by subtraction.

You might be dumbest person who has ever talked about sports in their life. Sammy Sosa was not only the greatest Cub of all time, but one of the best hitters who has ever played the game. Sammy was the Cubs for years and because he had one bad season the Tribune who has more money than God decides to make him look like a jekr before they trade him. Maybe if you didnt jump on the band-wagon and knew anything about baseball prior to 2004, you would understand what Sammy Sosa means to the Cubs and to Chicago. The cubs will be a sub-.500 team and Sammy will continue to reach milestones in orange and black.

I totally agree with the first resonse to this rediculous post. Attendance at Wrigley went up 50% from Sosa's first season to his last and he was the cornerstone of that franchise and they just spit him out because he had one slow year. Sammy will be a first-ballot hall of famer and Dusty Cry-Baby Baker and the Cubs will never win a world series. Look at Sosa's stats before the cubs were good since you obviously have no idea what you are talking about and obviously started watching them once they made the playoffs in 2003. Never post anything about the cubs or sports again becayse you ar an idiot.
