Mjarc

If you listen long enough, you'll notice that the crashing of ocean waves sounds like either cars barreling down an interstate, or gigantic gusts of wind trying to bust through a screened in window. But what do I know? I'm in central Illinois ... which isn't necessarily a bad spot these days.

I drove up to the apartment to find that they've (a) completely closed down the free, empty parking lot next to the building finally, which kind of saves us all the hassle of wondering whether or not our cars will go towed, & (b) the church across the street has disappeared, or been demolished, whichever phrase you prefer. So, now, I believe that a parking lot is supposed to be built in the place where the church once stood, and an apartment building will be built in the place where the parking lot once took up space. Kind of weird, eh?

I already miss the church. Swear to oragami that I used to have dreams that I'd suddenly fallen into some money and was able to rent the place out and put on shows there. Not like smalltime, shitty Central Illinois/college shows. Big shows, like a double headliner featuring Elliott Smith/Aimee Mann, and gobs of others that I'm embarrased to name. It was big, it was lofty, and it was empty. Put in a bar or two, some bouncers, and you've got yourself a working venue. Oh well, what's gone is gone. Instead, it might be a parking lot! Yeah! Yippy! I can't wait to daydream about that for the coming months.

I haven't slept in two days. And I'm drunk. You'll have to excuse me.
